SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 24 In the presence pres-ence of the largest crowd of the season, Claude won tne caurornia uerny ai ingie-slde ingie-slde yesterday, with Gold Van, second and Epicure, the favorite, third. The sport was favored by fine weather and a good track and the card an attractive one. The Derby tleld was reduced to six starters owing to- the withdrawal of Krishna, Elliott, El-liott, Fossil and Frank Bullock. The first two named were lame and Mr. Jennings decided not to start them.
