In 1893 the number of casualties from this cause was 11,710, of which 483 were killed and. 11.277 were Injured. In-jured. In 1902 the total number was 22S6, of which 143 were killed and 2113 Injured. This shows a reduction of 9454; and rt is to be borne in mind that the number of men engaged in this work Is much greater sow that it was in 1S93. |
