Show "BOODLE ALDERMAN" GETS REST AT LAST NEW YORK, June 23. The funeral of Robert E. Delacey. a member of the "boodle Board" of Aldermen of 1884. was held last night in his home in a little Harlem flat. Delacey died Tuesday from - rheumatic rheu-matic ailments of long standing, but his death was not generally known until today. Delacey was a member of tVie Board of Aldermen in 1884, wlu?n the late Jacob Sharp obtained from the board a franchise for the Broadway street railway. Charges of bribery were made against Sharp, who was convicted con-victed and went to prison. When indictments were returned in 1886 Delacey and several of his fellow Aldermen fled to Canada, and for four years lived In Montreal. Finally thev returned, gave bail in $40,oou each anil were never tried. |
