Nev., "country who have clung to some silver-lead properties in that section for years, and who are In the city to enjoy a long earned respite from their labors. These veterans have grown gray" in watching their hopes realized in the development of the great ledges found In the Cherry Creek district, and are going to return to the camp In time i to take part in the most important celebration that has ever been witnessed wit-nessed in that locality the Inauguration Inaugura-tion of regular train service over the line of the Nevada Northern railroad. Beginning wRh Monday a regular daily train service will be put on the schedule between Cobre and Currey's Ranch, which is only twelve miles distant dis-tant from Cherry Creek. This improvement im-provement in the railroad service gives Cherry Creek almost the same advantages advan-tages as when the line is completed into the district, aa the wagon haul is over a good country with almost no grade to speak of, and makeA it a matter of less than a couple of hours haul for ore and freight haulers, while the completion of the road to Cherry Creek is only a matter of a few weeks' time, the grading having been completed com-pleted and .most of the rails are in place. In speaking of the prospects of that country, these old-timers said that very few people realized the possibilities possibili-ties of. that country, which was within such a short distance of this market. There are a number of properties that are operating extensively, and an immense im-mense tonnage of ore is lying on the dumps of some of the old mines that ceased operations when silver was demonetized. de-monetized. An immense amount of equipment has been ordered for delivery de-livery as soon as the railroad can deliver de-liver to Cherry Creek station, and before be-fore the snow flies again in that section sec-tion of the Sagebrush State there will be a number of properties driving through the great mineral zone in addition ad-dition to forwarding large consignments consign-ments of the precious product to the local market. |
