Show ON BANKS AND BRAES 0' BONNY LAGOON TflpY DREAMED OF OLD SCOTIA The annual meeting, of the Thistle club was celebrated at Lagoon yesterday yester-day by Scots from far and near. ' The afternoon was spent at sports, while dancing was the amusement of the evening. The games consisted of racing, rac-ing, a tug-of-war and association football. foot-ball. The football game, which was between Ogden and Salt Lake, was won by Ogvlen, the score being" 4 to 3. Other features of the afternoon's programme pro-gramme were: One hundred-yard race, free-for-all Will Russell, first; W. Rice, second. Fifty-yard race for boys under 13 Lester Flygare. first; Willie Mitchell, second. Fifty-yard race for girls under 12 Kate Moffat first; Louise Robinson, second. Fifty-yard race for girls over 12 Marian Moffat, first; Julia Fogerty, second. Skipping rope contest Won by Marian Moffat. Egg and spoon race for boys and girls Won by Kate Moffat. Fifty-yard race for men over 50 Won by A. Wilson of Sunnyside. Two real and genuine Scotch bagpipers bag-pipers were on the grounds, attired In kilts and plaids, and during the afternoon after-noon played many old Scotch airs that touched the hearts of all Scots present The dancing features were Interesting. Interest-ing. The "Highland fling" was danced by Miss Agnes Wills and was roundly applauded. Little Miss Browning also responded to a hearty encore In the same dance. Miss Leslie Smith danced the sword dance and Miss Afton Murdoch Mur-doch the sailor's hornpipe. The dancing danc-ing was brought to a close by a schot-tische schot-tische in which all the Scots took part. In the evening they gathered about in groups and sang old Scotch songs. The prize for the oldest Scotchman on the grounds was won bv Samuel Bryson of Bountiful. Mrs. Harte of Salt Lake took the prize for the oldest Scotchwoman.
