Show MOTHER GETS WORD OF PRISONER SON Mrs. Jennie Starr of this city, this week heard indirectly from her son, Capt. Warren Starr, who has been a prisoner of the Japs at Osaka, Japan, since May of 1942. Captain Starr's wife, who is residing re-siding at Logan, sent word that she had received a letter , from Capt. Starr this week. It was dated Aug. 30, 1944, and stated that he was in good health, spirits fine, and had received mall and pictures from home. Last week, she received a letter from him, dated 1943, and it said he had been a prisoner 18 months so she concluded con-cluded it was written in November Novem-ber of 1943. Recently, Capt. Starr was heard in a short wave broadcast by a number of people throughout the country who sent word to his wife. The Vultee Aircraft company in California, which operates a short wave station, made a record of the broadcast and sent it to Mrs. Starr who is quite certain that It Is Capt. Starr's voice. |
