Show Softball Season Opens Here - J une 4 hi . . 3 City Softball League Is Formed; Six Teams Will Compete Haymond Drug, Springville Garage, Springville Jaycees, Firemen, Mapleton Jaycees, Morgan's, Enter Clubs Six learns will make up the roster for the city softball league with teams representing Haymond Drug, Springville Spring-ville Garage, Springville Jaycees, Mapleton Jaycees, Fire- men and Morgan's sporting goods.$ The league will feature four rounds of play, with the opening games scheduled for Tuesday, June 4. All city league games will be played on Tuesday and Thursday nights, Ibeginning at 7 p. m. Committee Sets Up Rules The softball committee set up the following rules and regulations regula-tions governing the sport here for this summer: f. National softball association rules will be used with the exception excep-tion that a man on. third base must be played on or he must score from a hit ball. 2 Pitcher must be dressed in a dark uniform. No white allowed. allow-ed. 3 Team roster must ba reported report-ed to the Softball Committee by June 3rd. 4 Games will be played on Tuesday and Thursday at 7, 8 and 9 p. m. Game will be considered a forfeit if one or both teams fail to field a team 5 minutes after game time. Each team to receive a loss in league standings. League games to start Tuesday, June 4. 5 A team will not have to forfeit for-feit because of lack of players if they can complete a team from the crowd, with the exception that the player or players may not be from another team's roster, and said player or players be of local residence. 6 Any team which is ahead by 7 or more runs at the end of the 5th inning will be considered the winner and it will be called a game. 7 A player will not be permitted per-mitted to change to another team roster without the consent of the team managers concerned and the softball committee. A period of 10 days shall elapse before said player plays with the new team. 8 The softball committee shall review and settle all protests and disputes. A protest must be in writing and be accompanied by a $1.00 fee. 9 The members of the softball committee are: Ed Johnson, Arvil Bird, Les Averett, Leo Robertson, Albert Hutchings and Geoge Pehr-son.
