Show MORE TAXES ARE NEEDED TO REDUCE DEBT The Secretary of the Treasurer calls attention to the reduction of the public debt by $7,000,000,000 in the past two months by using surpus funds in the Treasury. He says that the reduction will continue con-tinue as rapidly as finances permit. per-mit. This means that the reduction depends upon the taxes levied by CongTess. If the congressmen fail to resist the demands of taxpayers, taxpay-ers, there is little prospect that the national debt will be reduced to any great extent.
