Show Memorial Day Exercises To Be Directed By American Legion &VFW J. Y. Bearnson To Give Memorial Day Address At Each Cemetery; Line Of March To Begin At Memorial Hall At 9:30 A. M., Thursday Special observance of Memorial Day in Springville will he under direction of the American Legion post and the Veterans of foreign Wars. Veterans of all wars are asked to meet at Memorial hall at 9 a. m., and proceed from there to the City cemetery in parade led by the Springville high school band. Veterans of World War II are asked to wear their uniforms. The line of march will proceed at 9:30 a. m., on Main street to Fourth South and then west to the cemetery. An address will be given by J. Y. Bearnson and the band will play the national anthem, at both cemeteries. ceme-teries. Lee R. Walker, Legion chaplain, will give the prayer at the city cemetery and Max Alle-man, Alle-man, VFW chaplain, will offer the prayer at the Evergreen. A firing fir-ing squad will give the salute and buglers will sound taps. After the ceremonies at the City cemetery, marchers will be taken in cars from Fourth South and Main to the Evergreen cemetery. All veterans are urged to participate par-ticipate in the ceremonies honoring honor-ing their dead comrades. Graves of all veterans will be decorated by the Legion auxiliary previous to the formal ceremonies, ceremon-ies, with wreaths and poppies. |
