The basic idea behind the edu cational campaign is seen in j statement issued for the groin which says that when the new party arises, "it will arise as the action of organized labor, farJn. ers, white-collar, professional and small business men, who will ioiJ1 together in a people's party against 'the threat of monopoly capitalism to economic plenty freedom and peace." $ Group Meeting Starts Plans For New Party Denying an intention to "start a new party," a group which recently re-cently met in Detroit admits that it planned an educational campaign cam-paign for a "People's Party" and for the principles upon which it should be based. The group included about thirty, thir-ty, including leaders and representatives repre-sentatives of the C. I. O., and United Automobile Workers, but the names of those present have not been released. Another conference con-ference will be held in December of this year and it is pointed out that the date was chosen to indicate indi-cate that there was no intention of taking part in the political |
