Show LOCAL STUDENT GETS HIGH CHEMISTRY AWARD Carol Clyde, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Clyde of this city, was recipient of the chemistry award at the University of Utah on May 23. The award is given annually to the student who completes com-pletes chemistry 1, 2;.and 3 with the highest average for the year and her name is to be engraved on a bronze plaque in the chemistry chem-istry building. Carol completes her freshman year at the university this year. She is affiliated with the Alpha Chi Omega and the Alpha Lambda Lamb-da Delta, national scholastic honorary hon-orary freshman fraternity, and also participates in campus publications. pub-lications. " This week Mr. and Mrs. Clyde received a letter from Myrtle Austin, dean of women at the "U," commending Carol on her fine work for the year and stating stat-ing that she was one of only four per cent, who had mainCained the high scholastic record. |
