Show NOTED PlEEfl ! Edward Covington Will Be Buried From Fourteenth Ward Chapel. Funeral services for Kdward Covington, Coving-ton, 93 years old, pioneer of Salt Lake, who died Monday at 2 o'clock, will be held this afternoon in the J-'ourteentll "Ward chapel. Burial will be in City cemetery. Mr. Covington was official photographer photogra-pher in Johnston's Confederate army, and won considerable fame in those days for the braver- he displayed in obtaining important pictures. He was mnnager of the old Clift house, at Third South and Main streets, for several sev-eral years, and later assumed t he management man-agement of the Salt Lake house, on Main street, between First and Second South streets. At one time in his career he was an express rider for the Wells Fargo , Express company, and had many thrilling adventures in the early days. He was one of the best-known pioneers of L'tah, and had a wenlth of reminiscences remi-niscences of the stirring life of pioneer days. He is survived by his widow, Lydia Covington; his son, Lon Covington, Coving-ton, and his daughter, Mrs. Lena Anderson. |
