Show Japan Plans j Increase in Wool Raising JAPAN is intensely interested in the upbuilding of its horse, cattle aud sheep herds and the government gov-ernment is turning its eyes toward the United States for aid in this effort, ef-fort, according to Dr. Issa Taui-inura, Taui-inura, commissioner of agriculture of the Japanese imperial household, in a letter to a Utah woolgrower. Dr. Tanimura is in the United States and will speak at the International Livestock show which will be held in Chicago November 29 to December Decem-ber 5. ' ' We have undertaken the raising rais-ing of sheep, but the war proved that .we must raise more sheep for their wool," he writes. "When the war was in progress we discovered we could not buy wool from other nations. To prevent such a contingency contin-gency in the future the government will strive to build up its wool breeds. Several years ago we imported im-ported sheep from the United States to improve our herds and we expect to import more from this country and from Europe." |
