Show OUR EXPORT TRADE. According to figures furnished by the bureau of foreign and domestic commerce of the department of commerce com-merce April exports surpassed the previous prev-ious high record by nearly one hundred hun-dred million dollars. Exports for the month totaled $715,000,000, as compared com-pared with $623,000,000 for January, the previous high mark. For March of this year the total was $605,000,000, and for April a year ago, $501,000,000. For the ten months ended with April the exports were valued at $5,705,000,-000, $5,705,000,-000, as against $4,884,000,000 for the corresponding period last year. Imports for April totaled $273,000,-000 $273,000,-000 in value, a gain of $5,000,000 over the $268,000,000 announced for March, and a decrease of $6,000,000 as compared com-pared with the $279,000,000 for April of last year. Imports for the ten months ended with April are put at $2,474,000,000 as compared with $2,-:)62, $2,-:)62, 000,000 for a similar period in 1918. The figures are impressive and speak for themselves. The balance of trade for the fiscal year will undoubtedly be in favor of the United States to the extent of $3,000,000,000, which will enable us to finance some of the other couutries, those' buying our products of course having the preference.
