Henry Manning and children left the early part of the week for Murtaugh, Idaho, where they will reside. Mrs. p. C. Petterson was hostoss to the members of the Ladies' Self-culture club Friday afternoon of last week, President Mrs. M. Felsted presiding. There were fifteen 7nembers present and the following- ladies were special guests: ' Mesdames Osro Barnard, S. C. Snider, G. C. Hymer, Edward Austin. D. E. Manning, Frank Peck and the Misses Hazel Edwards and Doris Perry. A report of the progress of the peace conference and league of nations na-tions was given by Mrs. D. E. Manning and a j vocal solo, "My Task," by Mrs. George' Carter. A piano solo was given hy Miss Dorris Perry. During the social hour Mrs. W. F. Persson played several selections on the player-piano. Refreshments Refresh-ments were served. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph H. Kirkham and family and Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Bone of Yakima, Wash., moved to Garland this week to reside. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph H. Wallis and family moved to Brlgham City this week. Mr. and Mrs, D. E Manning: had as their guest for a few days last week Mr. and Mrs. Victor J. Bott of Brlgham City. Mrs. Bott is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Manning. Mr. and Mrs. O. C. Hymer, Mrs. M. D. Evans, Mrs. Joseph King and Mrs. Puzey are visiting in Salt Lake City. Mrs. W. R. Vanfteet and son, Parker, were Salt Lake visitors this week. A farewell party was given Friday evening eve-ning of last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. D. F. Manning by the officers of the stake Primary in honor of Mrs. Lizzie Manning, who left later for Murtaugh, Mur-taugh, Idaho, to reside. Music and games were the diversions of the evening. Archibald, Bishop and Mrs. Charles Munns and Mrs. Leroy Manning. Mrs. J. C. Wheelon returned to her home at Twin Falls. Idaho, Tuesday after a visit with her daughter, Mrs. J. W. Burns. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Reeves are visiting relatives In Salt Lake, Brieham City and Butte, Mont., for an indefinite time. An elaborate farewell party was given Tuesday evening at the Palace amusement amuse-ment hall by the employees of the Utah-Idaho Utah-Idaho Sugar company in honor of former Superintendent Thales H. Edwards and family, who left Wednesday afternoon for Spanish Fork to reside. Miss Mahala McFarland and Miss Mar-jorie Mar-jorie Gleason are visiting in Salt Lake City. Mrs. W. F. 1 Persson left Tuesday for Salt Lake City for a week's visit with her sister, Mrs. S. H. McMurrin. Many of Garland's younger set motored to Tremonton Wednesday night and Fielding Friday night to attend the benefit bene-fit dances for returned soldiers. LOGAN f LOGAN, March 15. Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Cannon entertained at dinner Saturday evening of last week in compliment to Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Reeves of Ogden. Sunday Mr. and Mrs. William Watson entertained at diner in their honor. A flowering plant formed the centerpiece for the table. Covers were laid for nine. Another dinner was given Monday evening eve-ning in their honor by Mr. and Mrs. Ezra O. Smith, a boquet of cut flowers formed the centerpiece for the table. Covers were laid for sixteen. The girls at the Sorosis chapter house entertained at dinner Friday evening of last week. Besides the girls at the house, covers were laid for Missos Ellen Barber, Bar-ber, Gwendelin Smith, Hannah Thatcher and Hattie Smith. In the evening a few girls gathered at the house for a social time in compliment to' Miss Gwendelin Smith, their new pledge. Part of the evening was spent making candy. ' Mrs. Clayton Preston and Miss Lucile Rogers were dinner guests at the Practice Prac-tice house Tuesday evening. A bowl of pink sweet peas formed the centerpiece for the table. Coyers were laid for ten, Mrs. A. H. Thompson entertained a few friends Informally Monday afternoon at cards. The Beaux Art guild gave a tea from 2 to 5 p. in. in the art rooms at the W. A. C. Thursday of last week, in compliment to the Alice Art collection, which was oh exhibition at the college. Potted palms and flowering plants were effectively arranged about the rooms. Mis Edna White, Miss Martha Carlyle, John Huppl, A. White and Russell Bern-ton Bern-ton received the guests. Miss Nancy Finest and Miss Edna Merrill presided at. the tea table. A string quartet furnished music during the reception hours. Mlsa Gladys Smith and Miss Ruth Spe.rry, accompanied ac-companied by William Peterson, each rendered a vocal solo. A dancing party was given Tuesdav evening in the Eighth ward amusement hall by the officers and teachers of the Eighth ward Sunday school. Light refreshments re-freshments were served. About fifty couples cou-ples were In attendance. The College club of the U. A. C. entertained en-tertained at dinner Monday evening at the Hotel Eccles. The dinner was served on the mezzanine floor. The various tables were decorated with vases and baskets of cut flowers. Covers were laid for fourteen. Mr. and. Mrs. Lyman Hyde entertained at a musical and socliil evening Sunday in celebration of the birthday anniversary of Mrs. Hyde's father, John T. Caine. Besides the members of the immediate family a few intimate friends were included. in-cluded. Refreshments were served. Monday evening a surprise party was given in celebration of tile birthdav anniversary an-niversary of John H. Smith, who was 67 years of age on that date. A family dinner was served and a social evening followed. Thirty were in attendance. Mr. Smith was presented with a Victrola by his children. Broberg are receiving re-ceiving congratulations upon the birth of a son. Wednesday, March 10. H. G. Winger and daughter, Misa Hilda, arrived Monday from Maddock, N. D., and joined the other members of the family here. Next week they will go to Salt Lake, where they will make their home. Mrs. J. W. Reeves and children of Og-den. Og-den. came here Saturday of last week to join Mr. Reeves. They were guests at the Hotel Eccles during their stay here. Miss Billv Hobush spent last week-end in Salt Lake.
