It .will be remembered that Mr. Quigley Quig-ley wired the Chandier and Standard factories fac-tories some time previous to the auto show, asking them to send him by express ex-press certain models which he was particularly par-ticularly anxious to d. splay at the auto show. In order to receive the three or fqur models ordered, it was necessary for Mr. Quigley to order two carloads sent by express. Thanks to Mr. Quig-ley's Quig-ley's enterprise, the curs arrived on time and made a very inU-resiing part of the display at the auto show. Thousands of pec pie saw the Chandler and Standard cars at Bonneville park, ad in ired their appearance, and listened with interest to the descriptions of the qualities of the two cars, as explained by Mr. Quigley's representatives. Many of the visitors at the auto show seemed particula rlv interested in the history of the construction and development of the Standard car. The Standard is manufactured by the Standard Steel Car company, located in Butler, Pa. This firm claims to have one of the largest and most complete plants in the United States for the manufacture man-ufacture of railway cars, and it uses its large corps of eng.neers, chemists, metallurgists, met-allurgists, production experts and cost analysts in developing and perfecting the Standard Eight. Before being placed on the market the Standard went through two years of hard testing, under all sorts of conditions to which a motor car could be subjected. The result has been an automobile which, in the opinion of its manufacturers, is one of the most capable eight-cylinder cars on the market. Motorists are invited to make a complete com-plete examination of the Standard cars now on display in the Quigley salesrooms. |
