Show URGES EQUALIZATION OF PROPERTY. VALUES Assessor Parsons Submits Arguments to Board of County Commissioners; Bailiff Wages Raised. Informing the board of county commissioners com-missioners that the assessment valuation valua-tion of property in the city of Salt Lake is 50 per cent greater than over the city limit line in the county, County Coun-ty Assessor A. H. Parsons recommended recommend-ed that action be taken to equaliee the valuations. He pointed out that, in addition to the greater valuations placed upon the city property, the city tax levy makes the taxes on city property doubly .out of proportion to those on the county property. The recommendation did not meet with enthusiasm from a majority of the board, and it was taken under advisement. The salaries of the five bailiffs of the Third district court were raised from $P0 to $'!5. The board approved the bond of Henry C. Lund, recently appointed as justice of the peace to succeed Herbert Van Dam, Jr., who has accepted an appointment in the attorney general's office. Both Mr. Lund and" Mr. Van Dam begau their new duties yesterday. |
