Show ATTORNEY FINED FOR REMARKS TO JUDGE Daniel Alexander Pays $1 Because oi Reply During Session of Third District Court. "That will cost counsel $10," sail nounced Judge W. H. Bramel of the Third district court yesterday, when the court took offense at remarks of Attorney Daniel Alexander directed at the bench. ' The fine was later reduced to $1 and paid. Mr. Alexander was examining a jury in the case of the Phillips Jones company com-pany against D. A. Markell, a civil action. ac-tion. As counsel for the defense, he was taking extreme pains in questioning question-ing the jurors. "If counsel does not conclude the examination of jurors by noon, the court will take the examination out of his hands," announced Judge Bramel, who had grown weary of the progress of the examination. "If the court had been attentive to the1 examination of each juror," Mr. Alexander began, when he was interrupted inter-rupted by the court's sharp imposition of the fine.
