Show RED CHS PREPABES FOR KEXT HUGH Mountain Division Plans Drive in Spring at Denver Den-ver Conference. Special to The Tribune. OGDEX, March 1. The mountain division di-vision of the American Red Cross, comprising com-prising the states of Utah, Colorado, Wyoming Wy-oming and New Mexico, will be thoroughly thorough-ly organized to wage a successful drive for the next SlOO.OuO.OOO in May or June. This was the announcement today of Ralph E. Bristol, who has just returned from Denver, where, with K. O. Howard and Henry X. Byrne of Salt Lake, the other committeemen for Utah, tne first steps for the campaign were outlined. Mr. Bristol said the Utah men were called to Denver, for the conference by L. C. Phipps and John More, at the head ! of the Red Cross In the mountain division. ! He said before the second campaign is launched that a comprehensive statement of the amount of money collected In the rirst drive, together with the expenditures, expendi-tures, would be published. The second drive may differ from the first in the apportionment to the communities. Mr. Bristol said the publicity which will be given will show the wonderful work of the Red Cross for humanity in the present war. He said the wide scope of the good work will show that the "Red Cross acts without red tape" in giving relief to not only the wounded, but to the distressed. The fact that the German government h?s permitted the Red Cross to give food and clothing to the American prisoners in Germany is an indication that the humane work of the Red Cross is recognized by the enemv as well as the ally. j |
