Show U. S. CAVALRY KILL TWELVE MEXICANS MARFA, Texas, March 1 Twelve Mexicans were killed and several were wounded late today when a band of thirty Mexicans fired on an American Ameri-can cavalry detachment in command of Captain Kramer Thomas. The Mexicans opened fire while a parley between the leader of the bandits ban-dits and Captain Thomas was in progress prog-ress on the Mexican bank of the Rio Grande, near Sierra Alto, south of Sierra Blanca. Private Mallack was cut on the face by fragments of stone thrown by Mexican bullous, but no other American was wounded. EL. PASO, Texas. March 1. Mexicans fired across the Rio Grande river at the International bridge tonight during the rush hour at the bridge. Soldiers of the United States border patrol are deploying along the river bank under cover of adobe shacks and are preparing to return the fire. |
