David Coleman was elected yesterday by the students of the Junior class of the University of Utah to head the class organization during the present school year. The new. president Is a member of the football squad and has represented the university in tennis for two years. Miss Lucile Farnsworth was elected vice president of the class and Miss Helen Youngberg secretary. Glen Miller was chosen for the position ot treasurer. At the same election an executive committee commit-tee was selected, consisting of Wendell Payne, chairman; Maurice Koche ana k-s-telle Dunyon. All the officers aro prominent promi-nent and popular members of the class. Owing to the failure of some students to return to the university as a result of the war, It is probable that two more members will have to be elected to serve on the committee which will make arrangements ar-rangements for the annual Junior prom. Jack Hayward and Harold Kay, members of the committee, failed to return to school. Another editor will bo elected for the Utonian, the university yearbook, as the result of the resignation ot Stephen Kerr, .the present editor, who expects to- leave the university In the near future to enter the service ol. the country. , , , A nominating meeting of the freshman ckLss was held yesterday. The final election elec-tion will take place Monday. |
