Show BRITISH PICK FLAWS IN THE BERLIN REPORT lyOXDON. Sept. 27. A British official statement was issued tonight with reference refer-ence to statements contained in the German Ger-man commuicatlon., It says: Today's German official communication communica-tion stales 1 ha t the British troops gained less territory on the 26th than on the 20th. This is perfectly t rue. The attacking troops gained all their objectives on both days, but the objectives ob-jectives set for the operations of yesterday yes-terday were smaller than those of the 20th. In sentences which are purposely misleading, Von Ludendorff describes the fighting near Zonnebeke and Gheluvelt. He omits to state that Zonnebeke was lost by the Germans, but emphasizes the retention of Gheluvelt, which was not one of the British objectives. |
