Show SAYS PROHIBITION PROVES BENEFICIAL Mayer W. Mont Ferry Informs W. C. T. IT. Wcrker That Law Is Strictly Enforced. Mavor W. Mont Ferry. put himself on record yesterday as having recognized benefits so far to the community from enforcement of the prohibition law and as confident that yet greater benefits will be realized in the future. The mayor's views are given in a letter to Mrs. C. A. Walker, state president of the W. C T. U., in answer to one of inquiry in-quiry from her. It follows: I am glad to reply to your communication com-munication of the 24tli instant, inquiring in-quiring whether or not. in my opinion, opin-ion, the prohibition law has been a benefit to our state. Dring the short time this law has been in effect, and because of the effective ef-fective manner in which its provisions have been administered, the results have ben altogether beneficial. If the law continues to be as drastically enforced I have no doubt that the benefits will become more marked as time passes. Inasmuch aa it is an economic maxim that no law can be enforced that does not meet with the approval of public sentiment, and inasmuch as the public sentiment in this state appears ap-pears to oe entirely favorable to the law, L have no doubt that the benefits and advantages of this law will be increasingly felt as time goes on. |
