Show PATRIOTISM VILL FEATURE SCHOOL EXERCISES TODAY G. A. R. Will Be in Charge; Various Institutions Will Have Speakers. PATRIOTIC exercises in keeping with the spirit of Memorial day will he held in the high schools ot Salt Lake at 9 o'clock this morn-inp, morn-inp, and in the grade schools at 2 o'clock this afternoon. These exercisps will be under the direction of the Grand Army of the Ke-public. Ke-public. Following the custom of several sev-eral years, this organization of veterans has asked other patriotic organizations to assist with the work. Kespondiug to this appeal, the United Spanish War Veterans, the Sons of Veterans, Sons of the 'American Revolution, and the Benevolent and Protective Oder of Klks have responded with a full measure mea-sure of loyalty, and will furnish speakers speak-ers at tlie various schools. It is expected ex-pected that at least one veteran of the Civil war will attend the exercises in each of the schools. Patriotic Features. Principals of the various schools haye heen working with the general committee, commit-tee, through a committee of their own, and each school will provide music and other features of a patriotic nature. The United Spanish war veterans will furnish sneakers at the following schools: Bonneville. Fred H. Crager; Knsign, Dan B. Shields; Grant E. A. Wedgwood; Jackson, Elias S. Kimhall; .Tefferson, John Q. Cannon; Liberty, Lee B. Wight; Lincoln, Hugh A. McMil-lin; McMil-lin; Oquirrh. Bismarck Snyder; Training, Train-ing, H. E. Heuriques; Washington, Horace Hor-ace H. Smith. Members of the Sons of Veterans will speak at the following schools: , Emerson, Dana T. Smith; Irving, George (i. Armstrong; Onequa, J. E. Parmer; Sumner, X. G. Morgan; Wasatch, Wa-satch, W. E. Rydalch. At the following named schools the speakers will be furnished by the Sons of the American Revolution: Bryant, H. A. Rich; Hamilton, A. R. Barnes; Longfellow, Samuel C. Park; Webster, Dean F. Brayton. Speakers at the following schools will be supplied by the Grand Army of the Republic and members of the Elks' lodge: Columbus, Douglas, Forest. Franklin, Fremont. Hawthorne. Lafayette, Lafay-ette, Lowell, Uintah, Whittier. Fortieth, East High school, Fast Junior high, West High school, West Junior high, All Hallows college, Westminster college. col-lege. Parade Unusual. The Memorial day parade on Wednesday Wednes-day promises to be an unusual feature of the dav. The line of march will be profusely pro-fusely "decorated with flags and other appropriate ap-propriate decorations, the city having made an appropriation from the public funds for this purpose. The Elks have invited the children in the Orphans' Home and Day nursery, nur-sery, and of the Kearns St. Ann's or-r.hinnrfo or-r.hinnrfo tn be their euests and to view the parade from in front of the Elks' clubhouse. School children of the city will occupv positions of honor along the line of march, reservations to be roped off for tlicm, to protect them from the traffic and the crowds. Sixty automobiles have been contributed contrib-uted to the Elks, to convey the children to the review point and to return them to the orphanages. The Grand Army members also will be conveyed in these machines. The parade will start promptly prompt-ly at 11 o'clock. A call has been issued to the Grand rmy and tho Women's Relief Corps to bo at the Elks' club building promptly at 8 o'clock Wednesday morning, prepared to visit the various cemeteries and to placo flags and wreaths upon tho graves of the hero dead. During the hour of tho parade the Women's Relief Corps will occupv the balcony of the Kenyon hotel, and the ladies 'of the G. A. R. will occupy tho balcony of the 2vew Grand hotel.
