Show ELKS' STATE MEET POSTPONED ONE DAY Opening Date of Convention Delayed Because of Conflict With Military Mili-tary Registration. Officers of the Utah Elks' State association, associ-ation, in session at the Elks clubhouse last night, announced the postponement for one day of the opening of th- annual state convention of that organization, which wa s to have been held J Line f. Since that date was originally decided upon, the day was selected as registration registra-tion day. The Elks is pre-eminently a patriotic organization, a"nd the state 'association 'as-sociation officers decided that no obstacle would he put. in the way of any person's "eistering on that day. and that the organization or-ganization would do not h ing to attract tiie attention of men from their duty on that day. The convention will he opened June fi, and the original plans will be carried out. Two parades will be held, one in which all loderes will turn out in uniform. Wednesday. June 6, and a character or costume parade will be held the following follow-ing dav. Both will move on State street, from the Elks' clubhouse. Baseball games will be played after each pa rade, at Bonneville pa rk. where during the two days a big round-up will be conducted, ending with a stampede Thursday night. The annual state association asso-ciation ball will he held in Bonneville park pavilion Wednesday night, and a stag banquet will be held Thursday night lat the Hotel Utah. |
