Patriotism as expressed ex-pressed In the theme of the sermon and m the decorations predominated in baccalaureate bac-calaureate services for the graduating I;ihp of the Ogden senior high school at the First Preshytf rian church tonight. "The Making of an American" was ttie subject of the baccalaureate address, delivered de-livered fry the Rev. John hJdward Carver. Members of the class, numbering nearly near-ly ninety, assembled with member's of the faculty in the parlors of the church at 7 :,'i0 o'clock and marched in a body to the auditorium, where a large section of seats was reserved for them. The reserved re-served sections were marked with crimson crim-son and white ribbons and flowers, crimson crim-son and white being the class colors. Members of the Junior class were com- ! plimented on the artistic decoration of the church auditorium. The school colors, col-ors, orange and Mack, were used extensively, exten-sively, but the national colors were given chief distinction. Several large silk flags were draped about the pulpit, and dozens of small pennants were suspended from the rails about the walls. The pulpit was banked with lilacs and baskets of the same flowers were In the windows. The patriotic thought of the day was also evident in the musical selections, which were furnished by Mrs. C. H. Stevens, Ste-vens, H. P. Dominie, Miss Ida Anderson and Miss Jxmise Pierce. |
