Tiwing to tho lateness of the hour and difficulties of transferring the prisoners pris-oners from the depot to the prison camp, arrangement ti were made to leave tho prisoners aboard tho train all .night. They will be detrained and transferred to quartern in the prison cam) at Fort liuuglas some time roday. The military guard, consisting of I) cninpnny of the Thirty-second infantry, out of Honolulu, which accompanied the prisoners all the way from Honolulu to Halt Lake, remained' in charge of them during the rest of the night after arrival ar-rival hero, and will chock the prisoners over to the custody of the commanding (dllcer and the guard of the Third war prison barracks today. As soon as the prisoners are checked over to the prison camp officers they will he loaded aboard special street cars and, under guard of armed soldiers from the prison company at Fort Douglas Doug-las and a special detnil of armed police officers, will be transferred direct from tho station to the post. Arrival Was Delayed. The detachment of prisoners arriving this morning consists of alien enemies gathered from points in the Pacific and interned temporarily at SehoSeld barracks. bar-racks. Arrival of tho special train over tho Western Pacilic, bearing the prisoners, wns more than twenty-four hours lator than had been expected: This delay in arrival necessitated the making of arrangements ar-rangements to keep the prisoners on their cars the rest of the night, to avoid turning them out in tho early morning hours and transferring them through the city to the camp at the post. The prisoners left Honolulu on board the transport Sherman, September 3, and arrived in San Francisco on the mornintr of September 11. Thoy were immediately transferred to shore and across the bay to Oakland. There they were loaded aboard a special train of fourteen ears for Salt Lake. It had been expected that the special would pull out at once for this city, but owing to delays it failod to start from tho Oakland yards until 10 o'clock Wednesday morning. There were other delays en route which brought tho train into Salt Lake early this morning. Trip Was Uneventful. According to report, of the guards the trip from the islands to San Francisco was uneventful, and that from San Francisco to Salt Lake was without incident in-cident of eonseo,ueuce. The prisoners are said to have conducted themselves admirably, despite delays and discomforts discom-forts of travel.
