Show AMBULANCE UNIT BEGINS CONTESTS Elimination Tryouts Being Held by Members of Sprague Company Com-pany No. 27. The members of Captain H. B. Sprague 's ambulanc?e company 27, began be-gan an elimination contest yesterday afternoon in the school of the soldiers, according to information given out last night by First Sergeant h. F. Wire. Every member of the company will participate in the contest, and will be grouped into squads consisting of eight men each. These squads, going through the routine of their work, will be inspected in-spected by the officers, and the slightest slight-est error on the part of a soldier will cause him to be called from the ranks. The last man standing in line will win one point, and- the squad winning the most points at the end of a month will receive an elimination pennant. At the end of six months the squad having the most pennants will be banqueted by the other members of the company. Today the boys will learn how to pitch their dog-tents. All work in the quarters, on the field and the general appearance of the men will be taken into consideration in issuing points to the different squads. Yesterday afternoon Captain Eugene Santschi inspected the non-commissioned officers, and spoke to them at 1 o'clock. He was well pleased with their general appearance. 'This afternoon Captain E. M. Norton will review the troops at retreat, and will also speak to the members of the company. |
