Show YOMAN WIELDS CANE ON TURFMAN'S FACE By International News Service. LEXINGTON, Ky Sept. 13. Thomas H. Ryan, the veteran Illinois horseman, was assaulted with a heavy cane on the main street of the city this evening hy Mrs. L. G. Hill of Sacramento, Cal.. whose husband stood hy to see that his wife got none the worse of It. Mrs. Hill claims to have been the owner of Road master, which was ruled off at Tiajuana last March along1 with A. C Donahue, in a whose name he raced after he passed from Rynn's hands. Mrs, Hill asserted that Ryan had not dealt fairly with her in disposing of the horse and asked him to pay her $1000. Ryan said that he owed Mrs. Hill nothing and Invited her to go to the courts if she thought she had rf case against him, whereupon she struck him in the face with a heavy cane, breaking break-ing the skin upon his face. "I feel that I have $no in satisfaction. satisfac-tion. " said Mrs. Hill later, "and I will gladly pay a fine." |
