Since j the breaking off of relations between the United States a nd Germany 4 70 Americans Ameri-cans have departed from Germany for home or neutral countries. The census recently compiled by the American Association As-sociation of Commerce and Trade of Berlin Ber-lin indicated that there were approximately approximate-ly U'r'i Americans in Germany on March 1. The present number will, therefore, not greatlv exceed 70'.', half of whom are ( living in Berlin. Americans continue to be unmolested ' and are subjected to the pa mo police I rules and travel restrictions as neutrals. Requests for permits to cross the fron- I tiers are granted in the order fil.-.l. The ! routine, however, frequently necessitates 1 , a wait of three or four weeks. |
