Show TO GIVE ASSISTANCE 01 SELECTIVE DRAFT Citizens of Provo Will Aid Young Men Who Come Under Provisions. Special to The Tribune. PROVO. May 26 The Commercial club committee on selective draft registration day met last night at the Commercial cluli, with a large attendance. The greater part of the session was devoted to devising a system that will insure the Importance of the registration on June 5 being brought to the attention of all young men more thun Cl and under 31 years of age, so that none shall render himself liable to the penalty one year's imprisonment for failure to register owing ow-ing to ignorance of the law. It was decided to give personal notice, so far as possible, to every young niaji subject to registration, or to his parents, and to otherwise give general publicity of the regis ti at ion act. The following committee on publication to ha e this matter in hand was appointed: I. 1 1. Masters. Mas-ters. A. E. Mitchell. Cieorsre H. Brimhall, H. (J. Hicks. Mrs. Fera Decker. Mrs. J. L. Lf-tei. The commit tec will appoint a subcommittee for each registrar iun district. dis-trict. A brief digest of the registration law. containing its important provisions, will be printed and plated in the hands of t he young men. J udge J. E. Booth. Judge A. B. Morgan and J. 1.. Iytel were appointed a committee to prepare the digest. The following committees on registration registra-tion day activities were appointed: Parade Willia m M. Rnvla nee. Captain R. F. King, J. U Tjytel. F. W. Deming. Pa triotic meeting U. J. Startup, James Clove. H. E. Smoot. Finance Fera Decker, J. W. Farrer, W. V. Violett. The women's clubs and the Red Cross society will arrange for badges to he presented pre-sented to the young men who register. The committee will meet again Thursday Thurs-day evening. |
