Show MIT OPPORTUNITY TO REAGtPROPERTY When J, C. Jensen, director of the Miller Hill Mining: company, operating in American Fork canyon, three days ago marie the statement that within forty-eight forty-eight hours equipment would be on the ground to battle with the gas that, com-, com-, ing from the face of tho tunnel, has hindered hin-dered operations for two weeks, the declaration dec-laration was made in pood faith, the : equipment purchased and sent at once to American Fork. But the unprecedented storm, which has raged for four days in the mountains moun-tains of this section, prevented both men and teams from reaching the property, and Mr. Jensen said yesterday that, while both tiie equipment and the- additional force of men were in waiting at American Fork, ft was impossible to state definitely how soon the mine could be reached, j But that no time may be lost when ' the eras-fighting apparatus is on the ground, tiie miners now there are busily engaged in making repairs and enlarging the tunnel to make room for the installation instal-lation of the big motor that will play the prime part in forcing the deadly gases from the face of the workings. Mr. Jensen said that he desired to make clear one point in his statement: That no time would be lost and no expense spared to get to the ore, apparently now not far distant, just as soon as possible, inasmuch as the present price of metals i warrants the development of even low- grade products, while the ore in the body I that is the objective of the work is un-j un-j doubtedty of the high-grade class, with I the emphasis on the "high." |
