Show 1 1 WILL TBI TO CINCH TITLE TONIGHT Battle With University of Utah Promises to Be a Great Contest. According to reports from Provo students, stu-dents, several hundred rooters will come ,to Salt Lake today for the pame between be-tween the B. Y. U. and the University f -I'tah tonight. The contest will be held in the Deseret gymnasium and will bgin at S:30 o'clock. Present indications point to a hard trugle between the two institutions. The Provo school won the first game, $ftd the pride of the local institution in : the present contest will spur it on to its greatest effort. On the other hand, the championship of the state will go to the B. Y. V. team if It can win, an excellent j iason why Roberts s men should exert lhemselveB to the limit. After the comparatively easy victory in Provo recently, the B. Y. U. rooters f feel quite confident of victory, even on a strange floor, and are offering odds on the contest. The local student body is showing an inclination to take odds, but is slow about betting at even money. Coach Norgren has been practicing his men during the p-ist weef. with the intention in-tention of working Happy Van Pelt, the star Crimson center, in the lineup. Van Pelt was out of the recent game, with The Aggies and was hand '.capped by a 5prnhied ankle in the first contest against the B. Y. U. It is expected that the outcome, of tonight's game will depend largely on ! Van Pelt's condition. i If Utah should win the game, the B. , Y. U. and the Aggies would be tied for first place in the .state competition. It is the hope of the local student body that this may result and that Utah may defeat de-feat the Aggies in the contest ut Lcgan next week and The Aggies defeat the '"B. Y. U. P-uch a state of affairs would leave the three schools tied all around and would make it possible for the state university to send a team back to Chicago Chi-cago for the big national tournament, if Coach Norgren should think the quintette quin-tette strong enough to put up a good showing. Homer Hoisinron will be the referee ton ght and Malcolm Watson will be the un.pire. |
