Show S. P. BAND AT. OGDEN GIVEN HIGH PRAISE Special to The Tribune. OGDEN', Feb. 22. The new band recently re-cently organized In this city anion? the employees of the Southern Pacific railroad shops is made the subject of a long article ar-ticle appearing iu the current issue of the Southern Pacific Bulletin, and the contention is made that the organization will soon be a real rival of the Southern Pacific band at Los Angeles, Cal. The article shows that regular weekly rehearsals re-hearsals are beins held bv the local' band under direction of F. K. Scott, district freight and passenger agent, who is also an experienced bandmaster. Officers of the Ogden shops band are: Mr. Scott, director;, George B. Hart, president; C. G. Hamlyn, treasurer; A. Schipper. secretary, and J. E. Stone, advisor. ad-visor. The band now numbers seven tv instruments. Director Scott, according, to the article in the Bulletin, is so pleased wilh the progress that is being made that he says the organization will be ready to do the honors of the Southern Pacific long before the Ogden railroad exposition in 1919. |
