Show ELKS FINISH PUIS TO WELCOME GUARD Automobile Owners to Supply Sup-ply Machines for Big Reception. I The reception committee is headed by ! O. R. Dibblee, exalted ruler of Salt Lake ! lodge No. So, B. P. O. E. Mayor W. Mont ; Kerry is co-operating. What especially !s insisted upon by Chairman Dibblee at 1 this time is the necessity for owners of ! automobiles to write or telephone the , Elks that they will have their automo-I automo-I biles In the parade in order to provide i ! for and to desire the presence of old soldiers, women of the G. A. R. and other patriotic organizations and for the wives of the Elks. This list of co-operating automobile owners has already been started, but it will require the united efforts of all patriotic owners of machines ma-chines to furnish enough cars, according to Chairman Libblee. The school children of Salt Lake will take part in the welcome home. To the I number of 15.0U0 or "20.000 they will line j up in front of the Elks' home on State street. They will be furnished with flags i and given a simple drill in waving them, ! so they will be ready to honor the boys j when they pass in review. When the trai n comes into the depot I there will be ready to greet the soldiers I a delegation of (J. A. R. and Confederacy veterans, officially appointed to meet ' them, in addition to the great number of citizens who will be on hand. 'Die , Spanish War Veterans will join in the re-I re-I ception. Members of the citizens' i t raining camp at Fort Douglas are also expected to take part. The route of march will be determined bv Major W. G. Williams, adjutant general. gen-eral. Friday evening1. March 2. a dance will be given at the Elks' club for the welcoming wel-coming home of the troopers. |
