Show TRAINS ARE STALLED NEAR SODA SPRINGS Special to The Tribune. ' SODA SPRINGS, Idaho. Feb. 22. One of the must severe blizzards of the winter has heen raping in southeastern Idaho the past thirty-six hours. Fairly regular j railroad service has been maintained un- j der difficulties until last night, when the ' storm reached Its height. ; ! A hish wind, accompanied by a heavy ! j fall of wot snow, completely blockaded 1 j the main line of the Oregon Short Line ; I at this point. No. 17, the Chicago-Port -land Limited passenger train, was tied up ! at Rose, about six miles east of here. No. 4, an east bound passenger, is tied up rive miles west of here. Numerous freight trains aro stalled on various Sid- ; ings in this locality. I The Short Line rotary snowplow is j making heroic efforts, both east and west I of Soda Springs, and it is expected that I traffic will oe resumed within twelve hours:. To make matters worse, the fnowslide in Bear River canyon has cut off all communication com-munication by mail with Salt Lake and other points south since Monday. |
