Show ROAD IS EXONERATED IN THREE ACCIDENTS Boards of inquiry have returned verdicts ver-dicts in the cases of Walter Dunster, whose left foot was crushed at Harris-vine Harris-vine September 27. 1916, and Jack Roxie, alias William Roxle, and John Snowden, who were killed at Cache Junction October 9. 1916. Both accidents occurred on the Oregon Short Line railroad. In the first case the finding is that the injured man was a trespasser and that the accident was not due to defectfve equipment equip-ment or track conditions, and all members of the train and engine crews are exonerated exon-erated from any responsibility. In the second case it is found that the two men killed were in a freight car without the knowledge of any member of the train crew, and that they were trespassers tres-passers who had evidently gotten into the car with a view of stealing a ride. The board of inquiry in each case consisted con-sisted of P. D. Jamleson, trainmaster; J. H. McCoy, general yardmaster; W. C. Burei. general foreman ; A. E. Barker, depot master; W. D. Hanks, representing the public. |
