Show OPEN FORUM CLUB DEBATES POLITICS a. uieeLiug -i Liie upen rouim emu of the University of Utah yesterday afternoon, the question of the relative merits of Charles Evans Hughes and Wood row Wilson as candidates for the presidency of the United States were discussed. dis-cussed. The discussion took on the form of a debate, and Wilson was upheld by Hemion Wells and Peter Kasius, while Ira Hopkins and Clarence Baird supported support-ed Hughes. No vote was taken on the outcome of the debate. After the debate the club decided to form two clubs on the campus, one to be known as a Wood row Wilson club and the other a Charles Evans Hughes club. Ira Hopkins was voted organizer of the Hughes club and Albert Paul organizer of the Wilson club. The members of the 1 Open Forum also propose to conduct a straw vote in the near future and determine deter-mine the relative strength of the two candidates for the presidency of the United States at the university. |
