Show LOWLY OAKS KNOCK EELS GALLEY WEST Victory Is Decisive and Pulls Elliotteers Out of Cellar Position. Special to The Tribune. SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 23. Oakland slaughtered the Angels today on the home grounds of the ex-cellar champs. The game goes to prove conclusively that with baseball, like many other things, you can't always sometimes tell. The boomerB from the citrus belt toyed with the Oaks yesterday, yes-terday, only to be given a dose of their own playful treatment today. The score was 10 to 4. The Angels started out bravely In the first, and on singles . by Maggert and Koerner and a double by McMullen grabbed a run. The Oaks came right back in the same frame and, taking advantage ad-vantage of a couple of errors by McMullen, Mc-Mullen, sent two men around the circuit. The visitors made another effort in the third and gathered In two more tallies, but again the lowly Oaks were equal to the occasion and went them one better in the same frame. From then on It was walk-away for the Oaks. In the third they batted Scog-gins Scog-gins out of the box and were no less severe In their treatment of West, who took his place. They kept up a steady and effective bombardment until the end of the sixth, by which time they had ten runs to their credit and felt reasonably certain of taking the game. LOS ANGELES. AB. R. H. PO.
