Show UINTA EXCURSION HAS ITS RESULTS , Inquiry Comes From Southern California for Colonization Space in Fertile Basin. R. S. Collett of Roosevelt, Utah, who delivered an address before a mass meeting at the Commercial club Wednesday Wednes-day evening on the resources ot Uinta, reported to Secretary- S. H. Clay of the Commercial club yesterday two definite results of the recent publicity concerning the empire to the east. He said that he had been approached during dur-ing the day by one man, who wanted to conduct a colonization of some tract in the Uinta basin that would afford homes for 125 families from southern California. Another wanted to know if a tract could be found that would accommodate ac-commodate 500 families, to be brought ' here from the San Joaquin valley. Secretary Clay said yesterday that the published accounts of the excursion ! made into the Uinta country by thirty Salt Lake business men had resulted in such numerous inquiries that his office is swamped and he is being put to ev- cry device to take care of the mail. |
