Show LOGGER MINING GETS mm OF ORE Struck in Main Tunnel by Crosscutting to the Hanging Wall. What is reported as three feet of ore that wUl ship at a profit has been encountered in the tunnel of the Logger Log-ger Mining company's property, located in the Big ' Cottonwood district and adjoining ad-joining the Maxfield mine. An average sample of the ore reached the local offices of-fices of the company yesterday and was sent to the assayer. Copper oxide is plainly discernible mixed throughout the ore. The main tunnel is now in well beyond be-yond the 100-foot point and is being driven to cut a cross fissure that lies ahead of the present breast, and the strike of ore coining at this time was in the nature of a surprise to the officials, of-ficials, although a stringer of ore has been followed for some distance. The ore body was discovered by crosscut-ting crosscut-ting to the west wall of the fissure vein on which the tunnel is being driven in a southerly direction. The wall was reached in about six feet, showing that the fissure is at least ten feet in width at the breast of the tunnel. The copper oxide has been present for some time past, but in a much smaller quantity than was encountered en-countered in the ore by crosscutting. The main objective of the present tunnel tun-nel is the intersection of the present fissure -with the limestone-quartzite contact. This will be cut at a depth of about 1400 feet from the surface. The Logger company has recently added add-ed to its holdings until the group now consists of eight, claims. These cover the main vein and also a considerable portion of the contact. The company is capitalized for 500,000 shares, with the par value of each share at 1 cent. About 250,000 shares of the stock have been issued. |
