Mrs Ksther Allen Haw. a talented Malt I . m ' violinist and leader of the Malt Lake Women' oraacatra. who tor several years has been eonneeted with the musical department ol Westminster college, recently 1 secured leare of ah snce for one vear in ortler to assist Pro feasor C. K. Aeashore of Iowa ttate university uni-versity in his experiments in psychology in its relation to musical ability. the left yesterday afternoon for Iowa ' ity, where she will begin work at once in the psychological laboratory of the nnl versitv. Profsor Seashore has an interna tional reputation as a psychologist. Mrs. (Jaw studied with him last summer, and her unusvnl abiiitv led Dr. Seashore to offer her a scholarship in ortler that she might assist him with his experiments experi-ments and at the same time perfect herself her-self in the art of examining prospective music students. Mrs. I Jn w is a grad uute of the Women 's 'ollege of Westers West-ers Reserve university of Cleveland, Ohio. After graduation from this institution she studied under one of the foremost violin teachers in Berlin. Since completing com-pleting her studies she has been connected con-nected with the musical department of Westminster olleffe. and is considered one of the most accomplished violinists in Salt Lake. Miss Corinne Butler of Salt Lake will substitute for Mrs. Gaw as instructor fn violin at Westminster college during her absence. |
