Show STRIKE 01 SELLS I SHOWS IMPROVEMENT Five Feet of High-grade Lead-silver Ore in Roof of Raise. As the work of developing the ore body encountered recently on the Sells property in Little Cottonwood district progresses, the ahowiug continues to improve, im-prove, according to telephone reports received re-ceived daily from the mine. President j A. O. Jacobson received a telephone report re-port from the foreman at the property yesterday to the effect that there was fully five feet of ore showing in the raise. Preparations are under way at the property to begin taking out the ore for shipment. It was encountered in the raise off the east drift from the northwest north-west drift that is being driven along the limestone-quartxite contact. The raise is now up a distance of about fifty fif-ty feet and tho ore is apparently making mak-ing out strong in the soluble limestone. lime-stone. The foreman reports that in the future, fu-ture, should the same conditions prevail in the raise, it will be unnecessary to blast the ore body, the difficulty at present being to keep it from caving. The last round of shots broke about twenty tons of ore mixed with the gangue material. This filled the chute and tho workings are now being timbered tim-bered and the chute is being cleaned out. Stalls will be put in the raise and a platform erected, after which the work of breaking the ore for shipment will be started. Samples of the new body have been received at the local offices of the company com-pany and will be sent to the assayer. President Jacobson will visit the property prop-erty in a day or bo to determine the extent of the strike. The southeast drift is being driven ahead on the same contact to cut the Sells, the Skipper and the Kate Hays fissure. These will be cut at 1230 feet from the surface, practically the same depth at. which the new ore body has been encountered. |
