The official press 'bureau today issued the following: ! "All day yesterday the enemy stubbornly stubborn-ly disputed the passage of the Aisne by the British troops, but despite the difficult diffi-cult v of fording the river in the face of strong opposition nearly all the crossings were made by sunset. "On our right and left the French troops were confronted with a similar task in which, like ourselves, they were successful. Many more prisoners have been taken. "It is reported from French headquarters headquar-ters that the crown prince's arrny has been driven back and that he has moved his headquarters from Saint Mcnehould to Montfaucon." |
