The domestic science olaas of the Tooelo high school, under the direction of Its teacher, Miss Mary Young, entertained a number of friends at a character ball last Wednesday evening. Tlda was probably proba-bly the most successful party given at the high school this year. The decorations decora-tions wero Japanese colored lanterns and parasols and Bpring flowers, and the guests were received, served with punch and generally taken care of by toddling Japanese maidens in gala dress. The party ended In a grand march, in which ail the characters joined, and after which the prizes for the best characters were given to Alex Dunn, portraying an Irish emigrant boy. and Miss Bertha Sterzer, dressed as a Swiss lassie.
