T. 1'orter and Dr. George W. Middleton returned yesterday from an inspection of the Newcastle irrigation project, which is being built by the Newcastlo Reclamation company, entirely en-tirely a Utah corporation backed by Utah capital. The governor expressed himself as being highly pleased with the results shown there and picdicted that it would become one of the best farming districts dis-tricts in the .state. .Me said that the wheat, oats and alfalfa which have been planted there are in excellent condition con-dition and that there lire now about ,1000 acres under cultivation. The company com-pany has a total of about 20,000 acres, j there being some dry farming land to I be utilized in connection with the irri- I gated tracts.
