Show CADILLAC OWliS 50100-MILE CLUB California has developed a new irlea in organizations of motor car owners. In most instances automobile clubs arc non-exclusive in membership so far as the achievement of car aud owner is concerned, qualifications being based on entirely different matters. The new California idea, however, is based entirely en-tirely on driving records, and is confined con-fined to Cadillac owners who have a mileage of 50,000 or more. The idea started in the garage of Don Lee, California distributor tor the Cadillac, when several owrners recently were swapping experiences in reeling oil" the miles. i early all had driven at least HO, 000 miles and there were some who had touched the 75,000 and 100,000 inarlis. Someone suggested that a long distance touring club bo formed and the idea met with :uu:h favor that the ''Cadillac 50.0UO-Mile club'' was o"-ganiz-ed immediately. There are a large number of C'ad-! C'ad-! illai's in California known to have passed the 100,000-mile mark, but oO, 000 'miles was selected as the minimum mini-mum for membership qualification in order to admit those who have been driving only two or three years. Perhaps Per-haps a dozen men qua lifted as charter members, but the club proved to be such a popular idea that the membership member-ship grew with great rapidity and Don Lee reports that he expects the club will have an enrollment of 1000 before! the season is well .advanced. i It is probable that the club will havej several classes so that the owners who boast r,f 100. 000 niiies can profit by a little special distinction. Kadi member of the dub will carry a small plate ou the radiator of his oar, which will be the badie of distinction. |
