Show TELLS OF PROGRESS IN CHRISTIAN WORK Acceptance of Gospel by Chinese Is Depicted by the Eev. Dr. E. R. Fulkersou. Graphic exposition of the progress of tho gospel in China was made yesterday morning at the First Methodist church by the Rev. Dr. E. R. Fuikerson of New York. Lr. Fuikerson is the representative representa-tive of the foreign missions board of the church and is entitled to speak with au-I au-I thority. having been actively Identified ! with Christian work in the orient for a score or more of yerirs. The sermon yesterday morning was de-1 de-1 voted exclusively to a brief recital of the miseion work in China. Dr. Fuikerson began with a word picture of primitive conditions, emphasizing the point that the Chinese empire included one-fourth of the world. He told a little of the thrall of superstition that had held the rae for renturies, end said that the pioneer Christian missions riea labored for facven yearn before making converts.
