Show GIVES INDIAN WAR DANCE. Aged Man Entertains Prisoners In Ogden Jail in a Rare Treat. Special o The Tribune. r.-GDEN, Feb. 7. Talent that rivals the ability of the best Indian who tripped a war danee was displayed by S. TV. Dvke-nian. Dvke-nian. 60 years of age. a carpenter, 'following 'fol-lowing his arrest by Patrolman William Brown this afternoon on a charge of intoxication. in-toxication. Some of the officers who witnessed wit-nessed Dykeman's imitation of the red-man red-man refused to believe that the stranger is not a direct descendant of some one of the tribes. For a time the aged man was as peaceable peace-able a prisoner as ever occupied a cell at the jail. Then the attention of Jailer Hagbart Anderson was attracted by the hammering of hob-nailed shoes on the stoel floor of the cell corridor and the laughter of the other prisoners. To put a stop to the noise the laller took Dvke-man's Dvke-man's shoes away from him. but this only served to Increase his antics. Snatching a blanket from one of the cots and throwing throw-ing it about his shoulders, he entertained both officers and prisoners with a war dance that any Indian would have been proud to execute. Dykeman continued his dance until forced to He down because of utter exhaustion. |
