Show UNEMPLOYED ORGANIZE. James Eada How Forms Branch Society In Ogden. Special to The Tribune. OGDEN, Feb. 7. With James Tiads How, the "millionaire hobo," at its head as temporary president, the second Utah branch of the International Brotherhood Welfare association for the v unemployed was permanently organized In Ogden city council chamber this afternoon. According to the steps taken at today's meeting, the Ogden branch will have permanent per-manent headquarters in the Bennett block. Grant avenue and Twenty-sixth street, by tomorrow. A collection netted $4.45 of the $12.50 necessary to pa v the first month's rent on the large ground floor store room that the unemployed will occupy. Acting unon the request of William Hunter, poor commissioner of Weber county, a committee of the association and as many of its members as desire to go along will call upon the board at 10 o'clock tomorrow morning. The commissioners commis-sioners will be asked to provide light, heat, perhaps some food and a telephone for the headquarters. The room mav also be equipped with a few cots or benches for the use of the unemployed men who are not able to find immediate work. |
